Nera Networks secures USD 6 million contract in Nigeria
Evolution Series™ XPAND
Nera has entered a frame agreement with Nigerian Railway Corporation to refurbish the radio communication solution along the 1,200 km railway line between the cities of Warri and Madugli (Maiduguri).
Under the contract Nera will deliver Evolution Series™ XPAND IP microwave radios for a total of 72 hops. Deliveries and implementation will take place in the first half of 2010. A majority of the sites will have solar power as the primary power source.
The contract in Nigeria confirms Neras strong position in the region.
Nigerian Railway Corporation will use the extended transmission capacity for internal needs, and lease exceeding capacity to operators.
